BUCHHOLZ COATINGS HARDNESS TESTER

Buchholz coatings hardness tester – SA510

This instrument is mainly employed to evaluate hardness of mono or multicoated paints. A sharp-shaped disc is applied onto the test surface under a constant load of 500g, provided by a steel block holder, for 30 seconds. After the test, the evidence left is measured with a 20X magnification illuminated microscope. The indentation depth of is inversely proportional to the sample hardness. The test result is then compared to a unified table.
